Our History

Hawthorn Aero began as the sole manufacturer of Smart Tooling, pioneering shape-memory polymer tooling solutions for the world’s most complex composite structures. By mastering the production of precision tooling and pre-production parts, we established a technical foundation built for the most demanding aerospace engineering challenges.

Over time, as the defense sector began to prioritize affordable mass, our customers turned to us for low-volume composite runs that leveraged our specialized tooling and resin transfer molding expertise. This surge in demand for scalable manufacturing led Spintech Holdings, Inc. to establish Hawthorn Composites to bridge the gap between innovation and production.

Today, unified as Hawthorn Aero, we have evolved to support the high-rate production and rapid fielding requirements of mission-critical programs. Our expertise has delivered high-performance wings for commercial drones, fuselages for ordinance, specialized inlet ducts for UAVs, and much more. By combining our heritage in advanced tooling with a focus on manufacturability, Hawthorn Aero delivers the low-cost, mission-ready solutions required to sustain the next generation of autonomous defense.
